Apparently, I don’t like straight lines much.
When the shop was looking for a bulk grinder, I have an idea for a restyled horizontal grinder (like and EK43 or the new Mazzer) but using a more compact motor and titanium 64mm burrs. It was taking a while as all things do, and we put in a ditting for the time being.
We have two housings fabricated and the motor mounting assembly for the interior is finished. The next step is the base and the front assembly for adjusting the grinder.
The design uses a capacitive touch-sensitive metal bar on the base to turn the grinder on and off and we are considering a variable speed motor design for future iterations in accord with our earlier patent. This one is pretty basic, though.
The mix of brushed aluminum and a hardwood base makes for a nice contrast between modern and organic materials.
